DAILY SCHOOL ROUTINE

Attendance
It is compulsory that all students enrolled attend school on a daily basis. Students are expected to take an active part in all school activities. Parents are asked to ensure that where possible, any family commitments do not encroach upon school time.
Where possible, dental, doctor and other such appointments should be scheduled outside of school hours or during vacation periods. Prior notification of any foreseeable absence is required by telephone, Skoolbag App or email to oakey@twb.catholic.edu.au Similarly, when a student is unable to attend school form the beginning of a new day (ie. due to illness), parents must contact the school to advise of such absence.
Students arriving late must check-in at the office to receive a 'late slip' to present to their teacher. Parents collecting their children early are asked to check-in with the office so an 'early departure' slip can be issued. The office staff will notify the classroom so students can be sent to the office for collection.

Parade & Assembly
Each morning the whole school gathers in the quadrangle for the school prayer, and to share any daily notices. A formal Assembly is conducted every Thursday afternoon at 2:20pm. The senior students co-ordinate and run this assembly. SuperLEARNers who are chosen by their class teachers receive a certificate for their efforts (the names are notified in the Newsletter on Wednesday). From time to time classes present items of interest and guest speakers are invited. At Assembly  the school celebrates students who have celebrated a birthday in recent days and the Tidy Classroom Trophy is awarded. A draw is also conducted to reward a student who has been 'spotted' doing something noteworthy within the school. Parents are welcome to attend Thursday Assemblies which are held in the Parish Hall.

  • A teacher is on duty between 8.25 – 8.40am in the Early Years and parade areas to supervise these outdoor activities; Please note that there is no supervision of students on the school grounds before 8:25 a.m. Students who arrive earlier must sit on the seats provided in the parade  area until the teacher arrives on duty.

  • At certain times during the year, after school sport activities are offered. During these activities a teacher will assume the responsibility of supervising the participants. Such opportunities will be notified via the School Newsletter published each Wednesday.

BUSES:
A number of students attending St. Monica’s Primary School travel to and from school by bus each day. Therefore it is imperative that these children move quickly to the bus assembly area in the quad area. The teacher on duty accompanies the children to the bus pick up area by 3:10 p.m. Students are to remain in the school grounds at all times whilst waiting for their bus.
