Fees & Levies
Associated Documents:
In order to make St Monica's as accessible as possible to families who seek a Catholic education for their children, School Fees and Levies are set as low as possible. Funds used to operate St Monica's come from three sources: 1. Government grants, 2. Fundraising activities, 3. School Fees & Levies. The money parents pay by way of Fees & Levies is used to cover the operating expenses of the school including electricity, postage, insurance, support staff wages, telephone, repairs and maintenance, stationery and photocopying costs. School Fees also cover the costs of Arts Council & visiting performers, swimming lessons, purchase of art and craft materials, the purchase of some classroom resources and for local class excursions. . The fees also include a contribution to the School's Capital Fund. This is used to pay off building loans, undertake major maintenance and improvements and to upgrade the buildings and facilities at the school.
Accounts for School Fees and Levies are sent home at the beginning of Terms 1, 2 & 3. However, parents are strongly encouraged to enter into Direct Debit arrangements so the fees can be paid off in very manageable amounts across the whole year. This is the school's preferred method of payment.
The school runs on a budget just like families do so certainty of income is important for the school to meet its financial obligations. Whilst it is an expectation that families meet their School Fees & Levies obligations, an inability to pay due to genuine economic hardship does not necessarily preclude a student from continuing attendance at the school. In these cases it is critically important that the parents make confidential contact with the Principal so alternative arrangements can be made, before outstanding fees become a major problem. If you find yourself in a difficult financial situation, please do not avoid this important conversation with the Principal.
Parents and Friends Association Fundraising Levy
The school collects a Fund Raising levy on behalf of the Parents' & friends Association. This levy is calculated within the total School Fees amount and is used to purchase valuable resources, equipment and facilities for the school.
